NISO Change Management Webinar Series - Rethinking Spaces - 12.9.20

Helping people gain a greater understanding of the information community — our issues and concerns, challenges and opportunities — is core to NISO's mission. Our events are a key element of this, with our popular webinar program at their heart. And, following the NISO/NFAIS merger earlier this year, all NISO members can now attend all 14 webinars in 2020 completely free of charge! This includes an unlimited number of places and full access to a recording of each webinar for anyone who is unable to attend the event itself.

Alison Masterpasqua has worked in Circulation/Access at Swarthmore College since 1992, starting out overseeing stacks and student employment. In 1998, she moved into her current position - Head of Access & User Services. She experienced many changes in the nature of library work over the years as Circulation became Access departments, incorporating the emerging trends and practices in the field. She is now looking forward to her next journey - retirement at the end of 2020.

Emily Daly is Head of Assessment & User Experience at Duke University Libraries in Durham, NC. She coordinates Duke Libraries’ Assessment Team and plans and conducts user research related to the Libraries’ website, services, collections, and spaces. Emily also co-leads the Libraries’ Digital Preservation and Publishing Program and helps coordinate the Libraries’ web interfaces teams. Prior to working at Duke, Emily taught high school English and then served as the teen librarian at Natrona County Public Library in Casper, Wyoming, and as librarian in Durham’s Southern High School. She received a BA in English/secondary education from N.C. State and an MS in library science from UNC-Chapel Hill.

Lorin K. Jackson (she/them) works as a librarian at Swarthmore College. Prior to this position, Lorin worked in the non-profit and K-12 education sector for over a decade with under resourced communities. Maria Stanton is the Director of Production for Atla and a member of Atla’s leadership team. Maria and her team are responsible for the editorial scope and quality of Atla Religion Database®(Atla RDB®), as well as the full-text offerings AtlaSerials®, and AtlaSerials PLUS®. Previously, Maria was the VP of Production for Alexander Street Press, where she was responsible for a full range of products, from archival databases to streaming audio and video collections. Prior to joining Alexander Street Press, Maria was the Senior Director of Content Operations at Serials Solutions, where she oversaw the knowledge base, link resolvers, and federated search solutions. Maria currently serves on NISO’s Board of Directors. Maria is a frequent speaker on a range of topics, from the state of theological libraries in the Global South, the challenges of Open Access, and the support of scholarly research in the Humanities.

Tony Sanfilippo is the director of the Ohio State University Press. Before coming to Ohio State, Tony was the assistant director of the Penn State Press where he worked for fifteen years. Prior to his career in publishing, he owned and operated an academic bookstore in State College, Pennsylvania. He currently serves on the board of the Ohio Humanities Council and on the Association of University Presses Open Access Task Force.
